Good gravy I know how hard that can be the first time or two. Take a long soak in the tub with candles lit. Read a good book, out in the yard with plenty of sunblock. Make some sun tea or lemonade. You will figure out something.

Wow, I know how you feel. My son goes to a respite program one weekend a month (special needs child) and I used to just sit here cause I couldn't figure out what to do without him home. I am learning to just get out of the house. Hit a store I wouldn't normally go to if I have him, get my hair cut, take a nice long walk, sit down and actually read more than one or two pages in a good book. Enjoy your quiet time!

It took me almost two years to get use to not have my children all the time. After a while I realized that I actually had time tto find myself. I now know what I like to do. I enjoy the quite walks. Life just slows down a bit. It a good reprieve.

I hear those programmes are very good,my nephew has a speach an language disorder he went in2 a programme an it helped him alot it also helped us alot 2 it was a good way 4 us 2 b able 2 communicate with him

His program is okay, but right now its in a group home, which I really don't like. We are moving next weekend and I am hoping once we move to get him back into a home type program instead. He learns more that way, he is also alot more comfortable. The caregivers in a home environment are much easier for him to get used to.

Yea 4 sure if hes not comfortable it can do more harm then good. My son is 8 his best friend has a speech disorder aswell an no one else realy understands him other then my son so 4 him 2 grow up wit my nephew has helped him 2 learn 2 communicate wit others wit speech disorders so in that sense tha programme my nephew was in helped bu obviously different circomstances
