My car was hit a couple of week's ago. I got a loaner. The guy at Hertz asked me what I wanted for ins. on the car. I told him I wanted it on the car only. I checked my bank acct. this morning to find that I've been charger $138.00. Shouldn't her ins. company have paid for this?

Not necessarily. Usually when there's an accident and insurance covers the rental, the insurance company will arrange for and approve the rental, in advance, and give you a list of approved companies. And, if they approve the rental, they often will not cover extra insurance. These are things you need to get, in writing, BEFORE you get the rental. Otherwise, you could very well be liable for the amounts incurred.
You can submit the charges to her or your insurance and it's possible you'll get reimbursed. You might have to sue, though. |

My State Farm insurance covers me when I use rental cars and loaner cars. |

every time i've been in a situation like that the other person's insurance pays for every penny, but that's because i'm a hardass and keep hammering on them. the way i see it, i shouldn't be out any money for someone else's stupidity or carelessness.
damaging someone's vehicle should be punishable by death. |
