Sweets is right- media nowadays is driven solely on celebrity scandal and salaciousness. Instead of focusing their attention on news that might actually mean something, they'll focus on crap like some pseudo-celeb kicking the bucket just for the quick advertising moolah.

Yup. And it's all meant to divert your attention from the REAL news, including the government's scheming to enact back-door legislation meant to lessen or outright eliminate YOUR freedoms and the like.

 We should do as Michael would have wanted and make the world a better place:heart:

by putting a Ferris wheel in our frontyard?

exactly issac....that is what i am saying

i mean for the past 10 years michael has been nuts

now....."lets honor" him...well tell ya what i think?

First I think...you looked at my name and still spelled it wrong lol.

Next I think...

Who cares!!!!

Ok...I guess it sucks that he was about to go on tour and they had to refund almost 90million in tickets so his kids are now going to be stuck with that debt...and they are going to have a custody battle to see who gets them but hey that's life. Yes MJ was talented but he was also completely nuts....he had issues everyone knows it. The main reason I think people care so much is because we have become a society that WORSHIPS celebrities...people live thier lives through them without living their own....MANY MANY parents out there know what there favorite stars Ice Cream flavor is better then they know what their own children are going through. So I guess for those people when one of their 'idols' dies it is like losing a friend....a fantasy friend...but that is what they tend to believe

Again, it's because he's a celebrity. Plain and simple.

eh isaac i thought you spelled it wrong, my bad

but i agree with you...and another thing too i bet is that people are sooooooooooo afraid of dying today. they're like.."oh no, someone else who used to be alive is dead. that person was around when i was 25 and i'm 40 now" so they tweek out

i get ya..good answer...that makes sense....i just wish people would allow themselves to "live" more than just "die"....

know what i mean?

Actually Justin Timberlake is talking about taking over the concerts and making it a tribute to MJ.. Also, the kids will get the royalties for years to come.. I'm sure they'll be fine.. The worrisome thing is that no one knows who the mom is of the 3rd one and they could possibly be split up.. Unless of course the mom of the other two still doesn't want them, then they can go witht the family...

So..I woke up today and my lady friend goes..

Billy guess who died! Billy Mays!

And I promptly go, "I don't give a ****...why don't you tell me when somebody is born once in a while???"

Now she got mad....which makes sense...and I understand that.....
.......

Just thinking....what you should have done is go grab a newspaper...look in the obituary column and seen the first person that died in your area went back and said "Did you know....(insertnamehere) died this morning?" when she answered who cares or who is that...explain that it was someone in your neighborhood...someone that could have even said a kind word to her in the supermarket...and that she was insensitive for not caring....just a thought
