I have no idea what I'll be doing. The last couple years, I spent the 4th at the beach, though.

Well, I just talked to my friend. She is having a small BBQ at her parent's place on the lake. So me and kido will probably go out there! I absolutely adore her and her father!

pretty radical stuff for those days. they (and we) are lucky they weren't all hanged for saying such stuff

The one thing I WON'T be doing is working on any of those fireworks display shows on the Fourth.

It's well-known in the special effects/fireworks community that the 4th of July and New Year's Eve are what are known as "amateurs night", where every rag-tag outfit with at least one pyromaniac will go about lighting stuff off. I've worked on a handful of them in the past, and they're THAT scary- I'm talking weirdos who actually get sexually-aroused while handling fireworks... totally inadequate safety measures on the site... fireworks doing what's called a "low-burst" (where they explode WELL below where they're supposed to)... it's not something I would ever wanna go through again, that's for sure.
