Thousand ways to skin a cat.
Has to be rules for EVERYTHING. I can figure out how to say anything I want & not break any rules. Fun doing it & makes people think to understand. Many of the above post prove the point. Just can't let the site get over run with crude, lewd, vulgar, idiotic words. Actually making people think more is good for their brain's health. Maybe they should charge for that??? |

Well, I recently found out that **** is blocked...but not blow, which is kind of oxymoronic in my eye's. Along with ****, Richard is rolling in his grave. Some of these are kind of funny, you can have a lot of fun with them.
" **** this lollipop won't **** itself!" |

By the same token, this is supposed to be a site for adults (adults, meaning those over the age of 18 -- yes, I know, many folks don't fit the word), and I find it rather ridiculous to have to find juvenile ways of posting certain words. We aren't kindergarteners here. Certain "heavies", I can completely understand, but others such as words that can be heard on virtually any TV show or song on the radio, yet cannot be used here, is rather crossing the line.
This is an adult site. Adults use certain words. Much like a TV show or radio song, you have three choices: 1. Accept it as an adult term. After all, they're just words. 2. If a person finds them "offensive", they can ignore those words, much like the rest of us are expected (and told) to just move along if any given topic or thread "offends" us. 3. Change the channel, or turn it off. It's pretty ironic when most folks in today's society are expected to go along with the majority rule, whatever it may be, whether they like it or not....except when it comes to print. |

What I don't get is the fuss over using certain words when your point can be made just as well without them. Why is it necessary to resort to being a potty mouth? |

That's the point, though....who is to judge as to what's "potty mouth", and what isn't?

I can either choose to swear or not.... and I choose to...it's a cultural prerequisite.
I would be extradited if I didn't. |

Fair enough. So then, we shall all heretofore refer to the former Vice President as Richard Cheney, despite the fact that he does not go by that name on any regular basis.
We are allowed to lick a lollipop, but we are not allowed to **** a coughdrop. Even though *** is referred to in the Bible, we must call it a donkey or a burro. The specific medical terminology for am man's gentitalia is *****, but we must refer to it as a "hoo-hoo", or some other such nonsense. Another name for an imbecile is ****, but apparently it only means part of a female anatomy, regardless of the fact that the word is as innocent as "crap". The list goes on.... |

I also find the notion that words offend people to a point that restrictions of normal speach have to be blocked as if this was China, or some other country that puts the finger on a trigger to stop adults from talking in a civil mannor. I have been ordered to run into the fires of hell and back while in the military, and the language that was used would make most people cringe. But, I did not stop them and say...."I am offended, please stop" I have paid a price to say the words I wish to say. I don't feel I should have to exersise my mind to find a better way of saying a word that for whatever reason offends the..."Great Computor"
My female dog is a *****. See **** run. See Jane run. See **** stand tall A donkey is sometimes refered to as an ***. A great broadway show and song....What's new ***** cat? Silly |

I see and appreciate your point Keith , but as you know, usually rules come from people pushing the limits and folks getting offended, so a guideline has to be established. Just a few can effect the outcome for all of us. |

My Pi$$ on the daisies thread somehow magically turned into "pizz" on the daisies.

Why is an old Osmonds song coming to mind? "One bad apple...." |

I guess it is needed but sometimes the spaces tend to suggest more vulgar terms than were used.

Words are only as filthy as the mind that's interpreting them.
