Topic: there's a bird | |
---|---|
in my cupboard, and i'm pulling out my hair.
somehow, a cute little sparrow made its way into my kid's room. it chirped for HOURS...i couldn't catch it alone, and the cats were FAR too curious. sucker flew into my kitchen and i shut it in the cupboard. it's quiet now, lol...but i still have to get it OUT of there. any suggestions, that don't involve a dead bird? |

try to cover it with a towel so it doesnt get scared and than you can
let it outside...good luck! put the cats up till you catch it! |

|
|

i'm worried i'll give it a heart attack. i know birds get them pretty
easily... i can put the cats in the other room, but they can open doors. |

hey Lori ...
lol...put on some gloves and gently scoop her out of the cupboard, if you can determine where she is without losing her. if she flies away leave some food in a trail to the window or on window sill.... put cats somewhere else |

so like...bread? i have no bird seed, just cat food. um...bread would
work, right? salad? |

smart cats! By covering the bird up if you can that will
usually calm it down that is why it quieted down in the cabnet. you might want to try opening the windows in that room also and maybe it will fly out...try the towel 1st. though... the broom would give it a heart attack. |

i remember when we used to have birds, we'd put a sheet over the cage to
get them to shut the heck up. i also remember how touchy the darned things are... i've opened the windows, but i think i might wait and let the kids get that sucker out, they'll be home within the hour. i'm just glad it's QUIET! |

I would try to open the window and let the poor bird fly out on its
own. |

Put the cats somewhere where they can't get to the bird. open cupboard
and the bird will come out on it's own.open outside door and shoo it towanrd the door. been there done that. LOL gook luck |

The problem I've had is bats in the house. The first one scared the heck
outta me flying back and forth. I tried the broom too, really doesn't work with bats, just makes em fly around more crazy. The next one that got in, I just left him alone after he found his way to a corner above a cupboard. I think he found his way out the same way he got in, wherever that was. The one and only time I had a bird in the house was years ago. Getting him out involved the cat. Sorry, I won't say anymore. I love birds, but stay outside please. |

Worst problem I ever saw like that was when a bird got into a factory
warehouse and kept setting off the alarms. Since the warehouse was about 30,000 sq feet it was really tough getting the bird out. Took a couple weeks. |
