Say you have been talking to someone online, maybe started chatting on Yahoo messenger. Now you want to move on to the phone-call phase.

Are you just as entertaining on the phone as you are online? Or are you a bit of a let-down? Does the conversation flow or is there a lot of awkward silence?

I think a lot of it depends on who I'm talking to, but nearly always I am just as easy to talk to on the phone as I am online. And I can usually put the person I'm talking with at ease, if they are nervous or whatever.

Are you good at the phone call phase?

i HATE talking on the telephone, and it probably shows in my voice. i much prefer emailing, or IM'ing, and especially meeting and talking in person.

at least if i'm chatting via the computer, i can do more than one thing at once. talking on the phone sort of grounds me to one position, or at least takes away the use of one hand. maybe if i invested in those headphone thingies, i'd be better with it.

I have a slight aversion to Bostonian accents. I wouldn't rule it out altogether though, if the feller had other redeeming qualities! flowerforyou

There is dead air on IM also, just easier to disguise. Also depends on how nervous you are at first. Things start to flow after a while and if not, no biggie. Not everthing works out. If it does than great and if not it opens a door for something better. bigsmile

Oh and the other most popular reason people contact me- I am not a free mental health clinic either. I don't mind helping someone out, but seriously if you are that f*cked up go and get some regular professional help (or pay me).
