They are everywhere. I have seen pictures on here frequently used by what are known as romance scammers. I have experience in "baiting" and can spot them easily. This site is great, one reason I joined, because you can never have too many friends.

I was IMed by someone yesterday whose profile said she was in Alaska, but in the IM, she told me she was in Ghana. Major red flag -- a lot of the former Nigerian scammers have moved their operations to Ghana.
I always report these and they are summarily exterminated. |

I am a scammer. But, lately I have had a hard time finding victims. Maybe I should be more secretive about it.

Yeah. I've had a couple of scammers try their funny business with me in the past. One claimed to be from Nottingham, England while the other claimed to be from somewhere in Colorado.
I usually defuse their shenanigans by messing with them. I'll usually play along with their stories and crap, but I'll add to the mix by Google Earthing their so-called "hometowns" with the purpose of asking them questions about various landmarks and stuff. In practically ALL cases, they'll fail miserably with their city-based geography quizzes. Then I'll get on their nerves by asking them as many stupid, redundant, inane, and downright nonsensical questions as I can before they get frustrated and wanna go away. That's when I report them to the Mods. |

Major red flag -- a lot of the former Nigerian scammers have moved their operations to Ghana. I always report these and they are summarily exterminated. I met a woman on here a few months back. She contacted me out of nowhere. Her profile said he was from Washington, but after IMing with her she said she was from Ghana. I talked with for about a week and half just for the hell of it. She was practically on the verge of planning our wedding by the time I stopped talking to her. |
