I have heard that said before. Brian and Kevin have a different writing style for sure but I enjoyed the first three prequels. I haven't had the chance to read any of the other yet.

In my opinion, Brian did a really good job of finishing up the series! The 2 prequel trilogies made the rest of the series make sense and I was truly impressed with the twists and turns with the end books.

However, I'm a bit peeved at the newest one he tossed out Paul of Dune, as I'm left feeling that it's now milking the series for what it's worth. There's supposed to be Jessica of Dune coming out this year. Paul of Dune falls between Dune and Dune Messiah and fills in more and I thought it not necessary.

Oh yeh, baby! I've also been enjoying going over some of Frank Herberts other books, and am amused at how much is similar to Dune. Thoroughly enjoying those books too!

I believe I have collected all the first editions of Frank's Dune novels.

I found Frank's novels to be a little deeper than Brain's, but I have enjoyed both. I started "The Jesus Incident" but have not had time to finish it yet.

I was talking to my daughters about these books just the other day.
I may go back and re-read them, as it has been many years. Also
'Stranger in a Strange Land'

But when I was at the book store today I picked up "The Good Earth"
by Pearl S. Buck instead.

Big fan of the Dune series, but only what was written by Frank.

Other scifi I've enjoyed-
Steel Beach- John Varley
Stranger in a Strange Land- Robert Heinlein
Starship Troopers- Heinlein
The Moonsinger, and The Beastmaster series- Andre Norton
Battlefield Earth- L Ron Hubbard
H Beam Piper's Fuzzy novels
Also enjoy Clarke, Pohl, Sturgeon.

I really like Dune, the sequels I never could get into.

the Fuzzy novels were cool (too bad Piper shot himself)

Battlefield Earth was tooooo drawn out

I get a kick out of Jon Tom the Spellsinger

and Xanth

and Dorsai

and Riverworld

and Ringworld

and Deathworld

and Pern

Elizabeth Moon has an excellent series. She is an ex Marine officer and has done the best representation of a military space fleet I have read
