Thats not always true. You find someone new before you've dealt with your situation and it could be a disaster.

If you give it enough time, there will be a day when you can look back at the situation and be happy about it. Everything takes time, it took time to make the relationship work SO of course its going to take time to heal from a broken relationship.
My suggestion is make sure you are over this relationship before you begin a new one OR you are going to hurt someone else. I truly believe you have to have your head all cleared and not be thinking about someone else OR the other person is going to be compared to the past relationship.

it's a good thing it takes so long even though it hurts. it shows u aint shallow and feelings actually mean something to u.

Why do you feel that you need to forget? I think about people I used to know all the time. Memories, good or bad, do serve a purpose.

When the time is right to look for someone new, you will know. Either that or someone new will come along beofre you know it. I'm still waiting for mine. lol

Take what you learned from it, cherish the good times, and give it time.

That's all you can do.
