Yesterday I got on the train to go home after work. It stops at a station and people are getting on. The first person on is a blind guy who's obviously blind since he's using the cane to feel his surroundings. He asks "is this seat open?" pointing to the first seat on the train. The lady sitting there pipes up "hold on a sec, I'll move over". He answers "just help me find the first open seat".

She POINTS and says over there. He asks "over where". She points again and says "over there" in a louder more exasperated voice.

My landlords, a married couple, are both deaf. He has about 20% of his hearing, she has none. Last week, as they pulled up to the house in their car, a woman said to me "I didn't know they (deaf people) could drive".

To me, I found it funny because Mike(landlord) has been driving about 50 years, and has never gotten any tickets.

Stevie Wonder I would worry about driving. Mike not at all.

some people just suck I know I have employees that speak very little english... and it's amazing how when people talk to them, the speak SLOW AND LOUD english to them, like somehow this will make them understand. They're not dumb they're not deaf either

Speaking slower will help, but not the loud part. I always have to ask the Latinos at my work to slow down their speech, as my ability to understand Spanish, and the speed at which they normally speak it is about 200 words a minute different..

10. You may go Deaf from having people yell at your mate. For some reason people think that if you don't understand english they think you'll understand LOUDER english. I speak and comprehend english just fine thank you very much, it's stupid that I have a hard time understanding.

I never understood that theory but apparently alot of people believe that LOUD AND SLOW english is much easier to understand to those who don't speak the language

My brother is Asian, he was adopted from Viet Nam as a baby... lol it's amazing how many people try and talk to him like he's dumb. He ONLY speaks english but people just assume he has no idea

One day he was waiting for the bus and his seeing eye dog lifted his leg and peed on him. I was laughing so hard. Then the blind guy pulls a doggie treat out and feeds it to him! So I said, "Why are you giving him a treat, he just peed on you"
The guys says " Yeah, I know. I am just trying find which end is which, then I am going to kick his A$$"
