I think Elvis ruined himself when he decided to become a "star" instead of a singer. That also goes for his move from Sun Records to RCA.

It is Sun records Elvis for me. End of story.

You know Elvis only played one character that died?

Love Me Tender - His First Film

Man I was just telling someone the other day I can remember exactly what I was doing that fateful in August '77... It was hot and I was sitting in front of a fan playing with some eraser cars watching Blue Hawaii when the announcement came on TV.
I cried for hours because I had lost one of my heroes.

My favorite Elvis movie is "Edge of Reality".
And, for years I'd watch Troy Donahue week on ABC back in the 70's. Yikes!! He was nubile and sumptuous back then!!! I also liked all the Gidget movies, save the last couple of 70's versions. They were stupid.
