You can stay just the way you are(perfect) and I'll still cook and clean for you. You just change the oil:wink:

You know what I love?

I love how men say they 'help out' their wife or SO.... and this confuses me. For who are they really helping? Do you help in your own home? Isn't that like going into work and saying to your co-workers... oh wait, let me help you out by doing my own work. That way you don't have to do your work and mine too.

Yep! What I don't get is when they do help out, run the sweeper or do the dishes, they expect us to roll out the red carpet for them or pin a medal on their chest!huh Yeah so, ya did the dishes. I do it the other 364 days of the year and no one throws a parade for me!

My ex use to be the same way. She would be like-Look I cooked I'm the best. I'd smack her upside the head.

what you do is duct tape everything down then go out and get the leaf blower and fire that baby up and go through the house with is

as for dishes. just lay them on the floor and the dog will clean them up for you

Yeah, my ex was the same. Not the major reason they are now ex, but certrainly a contributing factor.

My thinking is this. Along about the time it became necessary for women to go out into the work force just to make ends meet, the traditional roles did not change. Men still felt their job was to bring home the bacon, period, and women were expected to work outside the home AND still maintain all of the duties as a wife and mother.

Women, being the dominate homemakers, had certain ways of doing things and even if the man 'helped out' if they did not meet our personal standards were still criticize. So, they figure, WTF, I help out and it's still not good enough, so what's the point.

It's when we work together unselfishly as a family unit, each contributing to their best ability without enforced personal standards from our partner thrust upon us that we create a family unit, begin to embrace the idea that we are not one, but a unit...a family working independently together to create a family.

In other words, throw out the idea that there are 'roles' and just work together, bringing your best to the table...it will all work out.
