i've read PART of said discussion...i doubt i'll make it all the way
through all 93 pages. especially since half the time when i click a
link, it doesn't work...and i have to back page and click that sucker
again.


as to H.R. 769, i believe that would be a HUGE step in the wrong
direction.

I "almost" agree on the language bill being a bad idea.
I've read articles on it and there's a lot of good argument against it
but mostly on the fact that it would disadvantage those who haven't
mastered english too much. For instance, translators in court would be
gone, a really bad thing. But with a lot of work to insure fairness to
those who don't speak english it COULD be made to work. Of course the
ammendment would then have to be longer than the whole constitution to
be fixed.

This is america, you have the right to your own opinion as does everyone
else.

Not everyone will see this the same way. It's sad that we can't agree on
the language, but we only agree to disagree.

Well that explains it, Quecs don't even want to be part of Canada at all
as I recall anyway
Only known a few Quebeccers but generally found them to be just as nice
as my Ontario family. From what I understand though if I moved to Q
unless I spoke french I'd have trouble getting a job as a ditchdigger.
