Spray the carb with carb cleaner and also pull out the spark plug and ho;d the end over a gas flame to clean out any o;d fuel. Then it should start. What does a lawn boy want to be when it grows up?....................................................................................................................................... A Yard Manrofl surprised

You are right about the yardman..it is awesome. I have a yardman,a murry bigwheel, a snapper (electric start) of all things. But, I can't afford the battery right now. Now that is a hoss of a mower. I had a yardman that had six speeds and would cut through three foot tall weeds. It was magnificent.

U know what's funny is that I did own 1 of them many yr.'s ago.The 2nd time I tried to use it I had the same prob.& the mix was proper.I think there junk honestly.I tossed it into the garage were it sat endlessly & forgotten.I say good riddance.I bought an electric Sears model w/ I think was a better choice in the end despite the fact that I don't like trailing cords for certain jobs.Over time their much more reliable & efficient.I highly recommend one hun.Godspeed!Cy;) flowerforyou

The only solution I found was giving up and buying an electic one I can plug in. I'm ready to do the same thing with the mower. Plus, why don't they make mowers for left handers? I stand on the thing backwards, trying to pull with my left and hold the handle with my right hand. Talk about awkward. frustrated

Wow, never thought about that? Electric wouldn't even budge this crap. It has rained so much since I last mowed and couildn't get the weedeater started then. Now I can start the little one, but it just can't do it.
I could start the snapper if I was a long armed man. It has a pull start and electric. But, I can't get to the end of the rope while pulling on it. All it did was fart too. And smoked a bit afterwards.puff puff...like that.

Yep, I've had that happen. I always feel self sufficient until yard implements are involved. I could pull all day on my push mower and a male can come over and get it started in one pull. I even had trouble with the rider the other day. Can we say choke? Unfortunately, I forgot my mower had one. laugh Once it came to me BINGO, it started right up.

I used to use one by Rupp. It was pretty good untill the day the float stuck. I didn't pay attention to the hissing sound as I was unscrewing the cap. Once it got lose enough, the hot mix spewed in my eye's. I freaked out thinking I would be blinded. I was fine though.
