ok, i have saved the cash and am sick of not having a car... so... whamo! I am entering the terrifying universe of auto sales.

i want a pick up truck, but i dont need all the power and bells and whistles and crap. i just want the damn thing to start and carry around my snowboard, books, music stuff, and dead hookers.

i was thinking a 4 cylinder but i want to avoid a ford ranger. would you say that toyota makes a good truck? i need some help...

some small cars have pretty spacious trunks but the dead hookers start to smell faster closed up in a hot trunk faster if you dont mind

I cannot recommend anything other than Chev being reliable and low maintance, but whatever you buy get a CAR FACTS.

If you are buying from a one car owner they should be able to provide the service records on the vehicle......

As, for carrying Dead bodies, SVUs are a lot better to use.........rofl rofl rofl rofl

Best of Luck to you.......

depends on the size of the dead hookers

Why are you so keen on avoiding a Ranger? They're great trucks.

All trucks made today are decent. Ford, Nissan, Toyota, Mazda are all fine choices. The market is so competitive that manufactures can't survive with crap products. That being said, I would get out to the dealer's lots and drive a few different models and option levels to find what you're looking for. I would caution you against models with tiny 4-cyl engines, especially those coupled to automatic transmissions. You will quickly find out the it is simply not enough power to haul you and your cargo. But, you should still try one out just to make sure. There are some great deals to be had. Consider that new trucks are selling at a higher discount than used trucks due to demand.

My father has owned a 1997 Ranger since new. It has the 4.0L V6, 4wd, and manual transmission. It has been a great small truck for the family.

lol, Kim..that gives a whole new meaning to "wow, i coulda had a v-8 slaphead "

I had a Toyota 4x4, it was a dependable truck..not much room though..if i were going to get a small size truck, i would opt for an extended cab. The truck was fine. I replaced the clutch at 250,000 miles..when i sold the truck it had 287,000 miles..with no major issues.

i just heard that the ranger was incredibly small (which i dont mind) but suffered from a lot of transmission problems and whatnot. perhaps i am overly-wary and terrified. im looking on craigslist and they have some pretty inexpensive rides.

The Ranger is the smallest of the compact pickups. But......
The Ranger wouldn't be one of the best selling trucks on the road if it was too small.

Toyota? Making a good truck? Hell Yeah they do! How can you question Toyota reliability? I personally would like a Nissan Titan, or if they still made them, a Hardbody. Those were bad ass trucks. The Toyota compacts were pretty sweet too. But Whatever happened to the compact pickup anyway?

I had truck for my first car and I loved it. I now own a sedan which is much nicer but I miss suburban off-roading pitchfork
