Some men place a lot of impotence on it..

That's why I always wear a sharp suit and carry a briefcase. Because if you're going to be impotent, you have to look impotent.

You have always had an impotent look about you, Tngx.

Its quite important to me, but i dont get anal about it. I usually dont bother with apostrophes. I spell the odd word wrong sometimes and i let typos go unedited.

The only time I get anal about it is if I see someone acting arrogant and superior in the threads and they've made a typo. And, of course, I like to find Keith's mistakes - that's almost as much find as finding them in the newspaper!

I won't, however, reply to any email that takes too long to decipher nor could I ever imagine dating someone who can't put a couple of sentences together.

My thing is the shift/caps key. My left one was sticky and jammed for so long that I finally just gave up on it and left everything in lower case. I've only just gotten back into the habit of capitalizing properly.

I admit I don't have more than a high school education, but I cannot stand it when I read profiles and emails that have a ton of misspells and that have terrible grammar. I also have to admit that I don't take those men seriously and tend to pass them over.

if spelling was of importance in school. There have been many men that have written me with the spelling of a five year old. What's up with that?

If someone is chatting in the forums and does not have the perfect grammer, spelling, punctuation so what this isn't court, the legislature, a medical record, or some life altering situation for the world it is JUST conversation. Yesh!

Yes most of us have had the benifit of a quality education and probably could make a better presentation. If not I don't buy that makes anyone inferior. IMHO Those who think they are somehow entitle to only be spoken to by fully literate, highly educated peers who communicate at a certain level are so not what education is about, I feel like they deserve to be alone.

On a profile I would try for a spell check just so I would have a better chance of not misrepresenting what I want to say but again this isn't that big a deal. Maybe they are trying to be funny or just distracted. At least they are here and participateing.

I would much rather recieve a personal note that is friendly and tells me something about the author and our potential together than be anal about technical stuff. The one exception is someone who is vulgar or has to use profanity. But that is what the delete/block button is for.

It's a huge deal to me -- spelling, grammar, punctuation -- after reading a few million profiles written by people who are looking for someone with a "sence of humor," people who are "tired of dating loosers," people who wish they could find a "sweatheart," I just have to wonder: What's the point of going to school at all....?

shades

well the sweatheart wouldn't be so bad if they used deoderent

oh sorry
