You could get more energy from burning the food humans eat directly then from what a human could generate as useful energy after eating the food. That always bothered me! Would've made more (relatively speaking!) sense to have all the wired up humans producing some chemical, not just energy. I wonder if this was re-written during plot development for simplicity, at the expense of making any kind of sense at all. |
