Topic: I really need to get out of this state... | |

Before my IQ takes a sharp turn down, honestly...what is wrong with people in Illinois? It is like they don't even comprehend the basic fundamentals of life much less anything else. "Why is everything so expensive here?" don't know, figure you would have realized that the other twelve times you've come into the store *****ing about the prices..."Why don't you have this/that?", well, probably because it doesn't sell which would make it pointless to have at a business that requires money to continue running..."You're not very nice", **** happens.

How much time have you got? Until January or February, have at it! I have many more that I will add to this at a later time. |

No, I meant how much time have you got for me to tell you what's wrong with Illinois people. This could take a while. You might wanna pack a lunch.

I was listening to talk radio last week and they were discussing a proposal, if it isn't already passed, that will increase the income tax for Chicago (or IL) people by 50%.
That's bad enough but, they are discussing making it retroactive back to '05. Can you picture some @ssholes really coming up with this idea as a "way to make money during these difficult times" only to realize that doing it this year wouldn't be enough. Then, some brainiac crunches a few numbers and says to his constituents,,,"hey guys, if we go back about 5 years, we'll make a lot more,,, I don't see any problem with it". All I could think was,,, "how about freezing the pay for all of these @sses for the next 5 years and we'll see how quickly that gets shot down,,, |

These dimwits can't even solve problems with the city and state, much less anything related to money. It will fail, the people will not stand for it, they will lose a lot more money if this pushes through. |

Reading is apparently not necessary in this state either, as the majority of the people I see at 7-11 either can't read...or for whatever reason don't read. Then they stare at the sign as if it is some sort of foreign language, look at me, and say "so you can't sell beer?"...

I've also noticed not a lot of people would make good hostage negotiators here, take for example one guy that thought he would try and talk me down in price. Me; "your total is $5.46", him; "I have 37 cents"...

Before my IQ takes a sharp turn down, honestly...what is wrong with people in Illinois? It is like they don't even comprehend the basic fundamentals of life much less anything else. If you think Illinois is bad, you should check out the lack-of-scene in California! The state legislature seems to be dead-set on driving out any and all forms of industry out of its borders, and whatever industry they DO try to bring in are these hippie-fied, politically-correct, environmentally-friendly crap that wouldn't be able to sustain their ravenous tax-and-spend appetites if it tried. This goes double for the industry I work in (the film biz), which hasn't been much of ANY form of anything for the last couple of years. In fact, I'd say that there was more shows going on in Illinois than Cali in the last two years than there's been in Cali for the last five. And yes- things are easily 20% more expensive here than in most of the other major cities in the country (except for New York, Miami, and San Francisco, which are actually more expensive in some cases). This wouldn't be a problem if wages here had increased along with the cost-of-living increases... which they haven't for the last couple of decades. |
