Do you tend to make assumptions about people you don't know? Or, do you ask questions and get to know them first?

I use to make assumptions, but as I have gotten older, I wait to figure it out. Ok, Ok, I try to anyway

I must say i some times do but think better if shoot from the hip right at the start if you like the person

It is easy to make assumptions but I know that some of my assumptions have been way off, completely wrong....it is great to be pleasantly surprized by people.

Kinda strange that in some cases some people would ask a question, and the person who would recieve it, will imediately say why make such assumption.

I find that in this medium, people always show themselves for who they are....eventually.

Mine weren't. That is why I try to ask and get to know first.

For those who mostly make assumptions, do you find that your assumptions are usually correct? Assumption, or intuition....? You can usually sniff out genuine people who may be a little on guard, from arseholes pretty easily...

I don't honestly care, used too...didn't work out for me, so I quit. I don't care what they are and to who, chances are I won't see them again anyway. Where I work I get threatened almost daily by customers for any number of different reasons, I make my stand as I treat everyone with the same respect that is given. I make small assumptions, but usually those are just random useless tidbits like "I bet he humps beds" or "if he had a chance he would hump a bed"...

A trappist monk can probably go on without assuming or a Tzaddik Hador to put it betta. So you are stuck with the rest of the human race to keep on assuming because that's that.

Well, I don't usually make assumptions based on cultural or ethnic stereotypes. My downfall is that I assume everyone is trustworthy, everyone has a sense of humor and the worst assumption of all, that everyone loves me....!
I've unintentionally upset a few people right here on mingle, cuz I've joked around, or gotten too friendly with them... I just can't seem to be able to change my goofy behavior.

I only make assumptions which are reasonable surmise based on their representation of themselves. Specifically as it pertains to this site, I can reasonably assume that someone who refuses to type in complete sentences or fails to use any form of punctuation WILL inevitably annoy the sh*t out of me.
