I just finished reading the thread "What Are You Wearing". So many men and women wear boxers around the house, and women boy shorts, and of course women a top of some kind..
Brings up a question to me: If someone came to the door, would you feel comfortable answering the door like that? How comfortable would you feel if some one open the door dressed like that? Or even around the house with friends? Asking this question as I would not be comfortable, but is that old fashion? Another question for the women: If you feel uncomfortable like that, how come so many wear less on the beach, in public? Ron |

I have no problem answering my house door in boy shorts and a t-shirt or tank top..hell if it's good enough to wear around the house..it's good enough to answer the door or check the mail in!

personally, i will wear completely white boxers around the house...then when someone knocks on the door, I go and splash myself with alot of water (making it see-through) and then go and answer the door
BUT, it has to be warm water |

Bathing suits are made with a different material and there is a social acceptance to wear bathing suits as they are made and liked by the purchaser/wearer..
Your home however, is where you can wear what you want without fear of being arrested... If you're comfortable in boxers and a tank then that's your thing and if someone comes to the door and you answer it that way, more power to you.. If someon comes to the door and you throw on a robe, that's your choice as well.. I think you're forgetting that being it's our own homes, WE set the rules and have the right to be comfortable and answer the door or not anyway we choose.... |

I personally will throw a robe on when I have to answer my door.
Answering a door in my underware is not my thing. As for beaches... I usually wear clothes or a one piece. Guess I'm old fashioned too. (My bikini days ended along time ago, like when I was 17) |

This is my theory in part on this. I work full time, I'm in college, I have a teen son who is also in college. I am a single mom. I have a house to clean and tons of home work I need to keep yp on. Come Saturday Im exhausted and just want to lounge.
Although I feel a bit uncomfortable if someone shows up at my house and I'm still im my nighty, THEY should be more embarrassed for showing up unannounced. I think it's kind of disrespectful to show just up without calling first and at least making sure I'm not busy??????????????????? am I wrong? |

I am all for wearing whatever you're comfortable in around the house. When I put something on to wear at home, I don't worry about having to answer the door. If I happen to be wearing, or not wearing something I'd answer the door in, I just don't answer the door. Or, I throw on some other clothes before I do so.

I usually throw on a robe. I think it's kind of inappropriate to answer the door just wearing my teddy
