It's pronounced like Mike-a not Meeka.
Just thought I would share because I get asked that A LOT. Or rather people assume Meeka because the traditional spelling of my name, Micah, is actually a guys name |

Well, it just shows how our education tax dollars are well spent now doesn't it. I guess teaching English is not the same thing these days. If your name was spelled Mica then they would really get confused. I bet most of them don't even know what Mica is.
FYI Mica is a mineral also called Muscovite. It is a strange crystal that tears in sheets. It is partially transparent and used for sight glass in furnaces because of its flame resistance. It also has uses in electronics. Micah is also a minor prophet. So what is in a name? |
