My station does "What are you kidding me stories??" and I heard this one today, couldn't believe it.

Out of China, a man was standing on a bridge, contemplating jumping off (to commit suicide) as he was $300,000 in debt. He was there for about 45 minutes crying, not sure what to do, had traffic backed up for miles. Finally, a retired soldier got out of his car and walked up to him and PUSHED HIM OFF THE BRIDGE!!!! noway noway

When interviewed afterwards, the exsoldier said, lots of people had been jumping off the bridge and he was tired of being stuck in traffic all that time. rant frustrated

They didn't know if he was charged with anything, but GOOD GRIEF!!!

Pretty scary, I thought.
And, the fact that they said "lots of people had been jumping
off the bridge."

It is China, wouldn't be surprised if they never do.

The radio didn't say whether he survived or not, or about the air bag. But, I am amazed that that they said so many people had tried to jump off the bridge (something like 11 since April). Guess our government isn't the only one having problems.

Yeah. Totally true. They even showed video of the thing happening on CNN at some point, I believe.

I'm sorry but I'm not all that sympathetic. ohwell I mean he got his bluff called on him. He was attention seeking... and well, he got it.

Our country is not quite as restricted as China is, in China they really don't have a lot of avenues for expression.

absolutly. But the rest of us that are suffering, losing, and just gettin worse aren't holdin up everyone on a bridge threatening to throw ourselves off.
We are stickin it out. If he REALLY wanted to die, he would be dead. It was a cry for help, I hope he gets it. Along with the rest of us.

I do not think they give alot of help to the people in China....not the social programs like USA....probably nothing remotely similiar

surprised

And there's the reason I don't stand too close to the MARTA tracks when I'm waiting on the train.

Some people are just plain mean. I figure if dude really wanted to die, he wouldn't have been standing there actually debating it. I think soldier boy should go to prison. Actually I'm not sure sure they do that in China. I think they'd just execute him.
