Have any of you taken to the RYO movement sweepin the nation? I've started lookin into it an I'm curious if it truly is money savin. I read somewhere that you could use pipe tobacco instead of cigarette tobacco an it's much cheaper cause it's not taxed so heavily. Any thoughts my fellow smokers?

**Note to non-smokers** I am aware of the dangers to my health in smokin an I appreciate your concern for my well bein. I will quit when I get good an ready so please go badger someone else.

Rolling is just a novelty, for me it is anyway. Oh sure, I used to buy filtered tubes and all sorts of sweet smelling tobaccos, even had a nifty machine to load said tubes! It got old quick as I realized I'd rather devote the time making these things into other, more lucrative activities.

Didn't you also post about the e-cigarette in the General topic forums?

Actually, it used to be so much cheaper...cigs were 5 a pack, I could roll a carton for 8...since the new tax hit....it is just as expensive to roll your own as it is to buy them all ready to go.

Thought this was important enough to reiterate.

i dont smoke anymore but before 13 years ago i smoked for 17 years 2 packs a day, i quit smokeing just 2 weeks before they taxed it then it kept going up. no a carton cost 40 dollars, i used to by them for 12 dollars. i think you used to save money but not anymore, plus i dont think youd like pipe tabaco, i know i didnt.

I bought a whole bunch of tobacco before the tax hit. Even with the new tax I could still make a carton for $16.00
