I hear ya. Im perfectly at ease with spiritual men however but I tend to avoid those that enjoy inflicting the gospel on anyone who will listen.

Wow, there are some really good statements in this thread, illustrating the diversity of experiences.

Some religious people DO have a much deeper empathy and emotional presence, facilitated by their 'relationship with God', and some religious people have serious issues with guilt and self expression. And some non-religious people have that same empathy, without 'a relationship with God', and some non-religious people have those same guilts and traumas, due maybe to past relationships.

And sometimes the people who are the most repressed most of the time are those who get the freakiest when they finally let their hair down!

I dont think anyone has the right to try and convert anyone . If they wanted to be religious they would be. I am Pagan and my husband thinks he IS god and we work out well. I dont try to convert him and he lets me dance around naked in the moon light. bigsmile

That is so funny to me that u said that... I was thinking the same thing but didnt want to articulate it.. yeah.. the religious ones, or previously religious i should say, can be uninhibited for that reason.. and.. awesome.. lol

I think it really becomes a "how important to you is this" situation. If your personal spirituality (regardless of what that might entail) is something that you feel the need to see mirrored in others then chances are attaching yourself to an atheist or an agnostic or a person of another faith other than your own is just asking for turmoil. Not everyone makes this a requirement but some people certainly do.

lets put it this way, the fellow dropped a few JCs into the first five sentences and he wasn't cursing. he was blessing.

I was like "WTF?!"

That would be enough for me! If he can't go five sentences, hell 25 with out using the JC's, I would run...
