Of course it ain't.........if it wasn't a real big deal, Hank wouldn't have written a song about it.

There was actually a couple of honky-tonks in CT back in the 80's, when country was still country........I'm sure not like in Texas, but the best we could do here.

I know this to be a fact, 'cause I performed at both of them a number of times in 1983.

Honky Tonks like Illusions and Cadillac Ranch or other then those? My sister tells me that Illusions plays alot of Rap now and they do line dances to it lmao. Can't believe how much that's change in 10 years.

I don't know about those.

Billy Bob's here is the biggest "tourist" style one. but there are many small bars and places like cowboys dancehall

not many places around me do line dancing any more lol....ALTHOUGH I was tush push champ of Billy Bob's back in '91 or so lol

I don't know how to do the tush push, not sure they ever did that where I use to go, I only know the indian outlaw dance, and the one that goes to prop me up beside the jukebox lmao, and the boot scoot boogie, I forgot the Elvira one I was like 12 or so when I did that one.

Illusions and Cadillac ranch are a joke and a parody, in my book.

I'm talking about The Backroom Cafe, which used to be in Forestville, and The Copper Lantern, which used to be in Granby. Back in 1983, these were real dive honky tonks that had REAL country music - like I said, I performed at both places a number of times in 1983.

The Copper Lantern, as I remember it, was in the basement below some restaurant, and The Backroom Cafe was a large back room area in a dive chicken place called the Maryland Fried Chicken restaurant - and you had to go THRU the chicken place to get to it.
