coercion is broader
and it's no different these days than doing it in person |

The little girl who committed suicide was spreading false rumors over the internet that the other girl was Gay!
Is one illegal and the other not? Raise your children with sound strong minds and a little grit. This chit wouldnt be a case if people were able to take resposibility for their own faults. |

an adult can coerce a child. children are impressionable Twist it any way that makes you feel good, but this Prosecutors said Drew sought to humiliate Megan Meier by helping create a fictitious teen boy with the help of her then-13-year-old daughter Sarah and business assistant Ashley Grills on MySpace and sending flirtatious messages to the girl in his name. The fake boy then dumped Megan in a message saying the world would be better without her. She hanged herself a short time later in October 2006. Prosecutors believe Drew and her daughter, who was friends with Megan, created the profile to find out if Megan was spreading rumors about Sarah. Grills testified she received a message from Megan in mid-2006, calling Drew's daughter a lesbian. Grills, who testified under a promise of immunity, allegedly sent the final, insulting message to Megan before she killed herself in the St. Louis suburb of Dardenne Prairie. Prosecutors said Megan sent a response saying, "`You are the kind of boy a girl would kill herself over.'" was not coercion! Megan sent a response saying, "`You are the kind of boy a girl would kill herself over.'" Quit babying them and Raise your children with sound strong minds and a little grit. |

excuse me...I have raised my son right and I make no excuses for my son. and if he did the rumors first....then he should be charged as well ...they are 2 separate cases.
what the child did is slander and harassment what the adult should have done was either talk to the child's parents or go to the autorities...NOT act like a child |

Had to get clarification...sorry....there is a substantial difference between "black male" and "blackmail" and although I thought you meant to say blackmail I didn't want to assume.

The jury could not reach a unanimous verdict on a felony conspiracy charge. Now the Judge questions whether charges should even have been brought against her period. He's threatening to throw what's left of the case out! |

She was bullied too. Her messages that she sent to the pretend boy/adult were shared with others. Bulletins were posted about her. Kids at school read these! |

It is a ground breaking case. That's why the judge needs to think about for a month before he makes his decision.

same kind of thing happened to my niece. her ex boyfriend's mom emailed her friends pretending to be her son. and it went all over school. after I spoke to the mom and told her to get a life (among other words) she hasn't messed with us since.
now if the child that committed suicide was spresading rumors and harassing someone as well...then the adult should have spoke to the child's parent or reported the child to the authorities. it is ridiculous that a grown adult would act that way |

He's threatening to throw what's left of the case out! no... Wu squared off with Assistant U.S. Attorney Mark Krause for more than an hour about a defense motion seeking to dismiss Drew's conviction. The judge wondered whether Drew should have been indicted under the federal Computer Fraud and Abuse Act, which in the past has been used in hacking and trademark theft cases. the WRONG charges were pressed...not that the right charges should have been pressed. the crime didn't fall under the federal Computer Fraud and Abuse Act, but it does fall under the harassment and cyberstalking laws |
