Chasing the Dragon

Too powerful its sins
and its hold against its prey
it will lie and cheat and steal
until it has its way
Leaving tears and dust in its wake
so fragile is its path
it won't succumb to sympathy
all must feel its wrath
It hides behind the shadows
it chooses who gives in
it's relentless in its torment
too powerful its sins.
