Got the brake light and the tail light to work now, Now I just have to find a brake light switch. Im thinking I might have to go to a harley aftermarket place , pretty sure places like radio shack would not have what I need. I have the tail light wired to the headlight switch so that it comes on whether the high or low beams are on, now I am just wondering if I should put on turn signals or not.

Thanks again for all the help everyone.

I will post pics of this bike when I get a little more done with it.

So far I have not modified the frame since I am having to apply for an abandoned title since the guy did not have a title for it when I bought it.

It really depends on the year of the bike. Sometimes it is more trouble than it is worth unless the bike was equipped for it originally. If I remember they didn't begin to appear with turn signals until the late 1960's.

If you spend the money on a quality kit then it isn't so much of a hassle but the grip set or switch set must clamp securely to the handle bars or you may have to change the handle bars as well. getting the lights on is another matter. Again do not buy the cheapie kits! The proper kits have teh mountings that go onto the front triple tree as replacement head light mount that incorporates the mounts for the front turn signal unless you cheat and go with a fairing. The rear typically mounted to the frame near the tail light and the proper kit has the brackets that bolt on without welding. I have seen a pretty dope set for the back side that also clamps onto the frame. The clamps are machined so that the mounting hardware hides and the wires don't hang loose or need tie straps. There are special clips to hold the wires in place against the frame and hide. Then again if you are going with a long nose then you definitely will not be doing any fairing at all.

Other than that its all love. Drop on a spot of some dope color with a splash of chrome, some leather seating, fuel her up and go go go!

Got the lights working right now, jsut need a brake light switch now. Scraped the turn signal idea .... just need to get a bolt to tighten down the grips, tune up the throttle cable a little more, get it titled and plates and it is almost done. Then look for another project that I will put money into, this one is just to get back on the bike.... been of a bike for 5 years now. Needed a little 400cc to get use to it again.
