Do you think love is as meaningful as it was fifty years ago? NO I do not. One did not say it or express it unless they truely felt it. It is too easy in society today to just walk away. |

I completely disagree. Love is just as meaningful today to those who truly feel it. It was not as easy to walk away but I don't believe people were happier. NOW, was life easier? Perhaps.

I think love is just as meaningful, there are just fewer folks who get what real love is.

Do you think love is as meaningful as it was fifty years ago? Unfortunately, people are in disposable relationships these days. Divorce is to convenient and when it comes down to actually "working" on the relationship, it is contrived as too much effort and they walk away from each other. It's a shame... |

On the whole, no. Society has warped the view of how humans should nuture a relationship, and there are very few people anymore who still adhere to the old ways that our parents and grandparents did.
On the positive side....there are STILL a few people who still adhere to the old ways that our parents and grandparents did. |

I don't know if it really did (hey...I was only "recently conceived" 50 years ago so can't speak from observation!) My suspicion, based on doing some geneology (forked & grafted family trees) and knowing what little I THINK I know about human nature is that it's probably pretty much the same. It just wasn't socially acceptable or easy to manage a divorce. Women didn't have many options in terms of making a living, either.
Saying it was all better is probably romanticizing... |

Do you think love is as meaningful as it was fifty years ago? Yes if you want it to... |

Do you think love is as meaningful as it was fifty years ago? Now that we have the internet, there are more ways to hide and lie. So, no. Not sure what one has to do with the other, but it sounded good in my head when I thought of it. |

It was harder to get out of it... I also don't think they threw it around as much b/c it was harder to get out.. I've heard of plenty of people that were miserable honoring their committment until death did they part... |
