Prepping my decrepit laptop for an install of OpenSolaris. How about yourself?

What's Opensolaris?

It's a version of an open-source operating system known as "unix", which means (among other things) that it's free.

My lappy has had its original install of windows xp for a while now, and its showing its age in a most discouraging way. So instead of trying to reinstall xp or upgrade to vista (which is out of the question, due to the age of the laptop), i decided to install OpenSolaris instead.

Some of the Linux/UNIX purists out there might not like OpenSolaris, but I kind of like it. So it's getting installed.

Well... i HAVE ventured into geek territory, you know. Not a lot of people can keep up with that.
