Topic: Romantic Or A Little Too Much?

I think even if it were written very juvenile-like, it'd be such a sweet thing to do, and would definitely give me a warm, tender feeling.

If it were a deep and emotional poem, it'd probably be one of my greatest keepsakes, which I would re-read often, and I'd most likely be eternally captured.

Yes, I think they are romantic but I would prefer them to be kept private, between me and my love.

I dont think its too much at all. Its a wonderful gift. It shows that the person really thinks about you and that you are something special in their life. I would take a poem over just about any material gift imaginable. Poems need to be written and they require time and effort and an emotional outpouring.

Quite poetic

 Do you think a poem (by your lover) is romantic or a little too much?

If it came from the heart... even X's and O's on a sheet of paper would be a treasure.... but in this day and age, people too busy for such...

Watch out for friend who turn out to be lovers
first they steal your heart and then steal your covers.

May be romantic who knows laugh

I like poetry. And if someone took the time to write one out for me then I would definately say it was romantic.

I'm a poet, so it comes with the package, like it or not.

Words are powerful things whether they are written out of love or hatred. Words of love can help a loved heart love even more, they can warm a cold heart, brighten a dark day, lift up a lonely soul whereas words written out of hatred can be hurtful to a loved heart, they can freeze a heart, further darken a dark day with no hope of seeing the light, and place a lonely soul further into unwanted loneliness. Why is it easier to utter words of hatred and words of love are more often than not difficult to say? When a person is the recipient of words of love, they should treasure them, hold them close and save them for a day when they can be used against words of hatred. Words of love should be used, but not abused!

It's cute/romantic/cheesy... but a very thoughtful gift.

In your eyes, I see the love
your embrace will bring desire.
To press your lips soft on mine
my passion grows like fire.

Yea, something like that would probably do it for me. Unfortunately I've never had a man write me poetry. I think it is a nice sentiment but probably a rarity.

uhm....Poetry.... that would make me wanna rip my eyes out.

I'm sort of really picky about poetry and honestly most people can't write it to save their lives. I don't think that the amount of affection I have for someone would make me like the poem. I would probably not be able to squirm or make a face or vomit.

Ya... bad idea.

Just eiu....no.

I had someone do that ... once.... and .... well.... eiu....

I think it's so romantic. I wish that I had a man of a nature as to do such a thing for me.

Update...It is very romantic to have poetry written to you. I could get used to it. I've been told it doesn't have to be good poetry, although it was, it is about the thought, time and effort that goes into it. I agree!
