I feel as if I've been around long enough(60yrs), that I can/could read between the lines on some stuff(not all, because there are some really good con's out there)! You have to realize though...that a lot of things can be taken in many different ways. We don't all see the same things, the same way. Also, having been in law enforcement for awhile...you kind of get a 6th sense(or gut feeling)about some things you come across. These are JMO's. Hope your having a great day, and all is going your way, AuburnGirl! 
Finally! Now I know how old you are.

I know I'm a sarcastic ass at times guys... My intention is not to offend anyone,, but sometimes I am vulgar in my post... Most of the time it's my attempt to be funny..
As far as knowing people and being ok with their derogatory comments against you... I think it's all about time and how you feel about the person.. If you have known them for a little while and they start busting your balls it's just funny and you shrug it off... If you just met them and they are being that way then it get's a little more offensive I think... It all depends on the situation and the context at hand... I evaluate each as a separate entity.. I usually get more upset though when I see people being blatantly disrespectful to people I respect or friends... After punching the heavy bag for a while I feel all better again.. ha!

I suppose this works IF the poster is someone you know pretty well. With my friends, I can easily see when they are being sarcastic but have watched while people took them to task not realizing there were. (Not speaking of any particular incident). Others, I guess it depends on the poster. If a statement feels like it just kicked you in the gut, it is likely meant to feel that way.
