I'm going to London in a few months, and I have been thinking of renting a car and drive around UK a bit.
But in UK, I'd be on the passenger side, and driving on the wrong side of the road  . So, has anyone of you had to adapt on driving in opposite-land, and how was it? |

I have been to England several times, and wouldn't think of driving over there. NO WAY. Traffic circles will get you killed when you're used to entering them from the other direction. Just get a Eurorail pass, and come back safe.

For the English they are driving on the correct side of the road

I thought of moving around using trains, until I found out what that would cost
 Uk should take a lesson of public transport from Italy, 1euro takes you FAR!

My sister said she was fine with it ..
but it was cheaper to get the 5 speed... so she did... then when she got in the the shifting was backwords vice versa.. gotta shift wit the left hand.. she said she felt bad for that tranny

But the gears are like "normally", 1st/2nd on the left, and 5th on the right, right?

I had a great time. I rented a car in Edinburgh and took it all over England. The roads are very very narrow and the "circles" are a pain in the butt but as soon as you get used to the lorries coming head on and passing a few inches away, its great. There is no better way to see England.

Thanks for replys everyone, I think I'll go with the car. I do feel that getting out of London without being honked at may be impossible for me, but I hope it'll get easier from there. And, a train from London to Bristol (or was it Brighton?) gets you a car for two days..
