so i called to see if i paid off two tickets, could i get my license reinstated without taking the test... these are very old. she asked for my license number. i told her i didn't have it as it was also very old. she said i had to go into the dmv. i asked if i could give my ssn and dob or anything like that.
instantly... she became irate. i mean wow. like i sat quiet while she told me; "LISTEN I TOLD YOU I NEED YOUR DRIVERS LICENSE NUMBER AND YOU DONT HAVE IT SO I CANT HELP YOU." CLICK. she hung up on me. i literally sat there... shocked outta my mind. so i'm off to the dmv... but what trips me out.. with all the cuts that are happening here in California.. you'd think she'd be ecstatic about having a job in general ya know? |

when you apply for those jobs there are a couple little check boxes with questions that ask:
'are you an alcoholic?' 'if so, do you prefer hard liquor or beer?' 'are you upset with life in general' 'if so, are you likely to fly off your hinges at the drop of a hat?' 'do you have an inferiority complex?' 'if so, is it likely to throw you into a violent frenzy? 'have you ever killed a person with a standard touch-tone telephone?' 'if so, was the person killed due to blunt-force trauma, or blood loss?' these are just a couple. |

but what trips me out.. with all the cuts that are happening here in California.. you'd think she'd be ecstatic about having a job in general ya know? I used to keep quiet when stuff like this happened to me, because I knew that they (like other public facing workers) have to deal with a whole lot of jerks on a daily basis. Then I decided that being punished for the actions of others was bs. What I've found works, without being a raging b**ch myself, is saying something like this "I appreciate the fact that you have a stressful job, dealing with irate people day in and day out, without much thanks or credit given. However, I have been nothing but polite with you, and I don't feel as though I deserve to be treated as though I haven't." Usually, one of two things happen...they either calm down, apologize and work with you, or they continue being nasty. If it's the latter, THEN the biatch in me comes out :) Good luck at the DMV! |

Personally, I'd call and ask to speak to a supervisor, but I'm a bit rabid when it comes to customer service, because people's PMS is not my problem, lol. |
