Hadn't heard that term before but saw a good concert last night at a local venue...The John Jorgeson Quintet. Pretty cool and a new genre term to boot!

I've heard of it. Django Reinhardt is one of the most famous Gypsy Jazz guitarists, you may have come across the name.

I've heard of it. Django Reinhardt is one of the most famous Gypsy Jazz guitarists, you may have come across the name. I HAD heard of Django Reinhardt, as a matter of fact, but somehow had missed the word "gypsy" in the jazz genre title over time. In fact, there were a number of references to Reinhardt's legacy during the show and I kept trying to piece what I knew and what I didn't... Good show, though! |
