Hey you want some chicken???? That was about as sick as two people can get without dying. You held my hair, and I held yours. If you can do that with your man/woman, you can go through just about anything.

I'm very attentive...but if they start puking...they better be prepared to share the bowl...

I'm very attentive...but if they start puking...they better be prepared to share the bowl... I was too. But the trick is to line a garbage basket with a small plastic bag...that way, you toss it and don't have to look at it so much! |

How do you handle it when your loved one is sick? Are you caring & attentive...or do you head for the hills? this one time my ex gf and i were in downtown boston, i thikn we were 19, and it was her birthday. so, duh, we go to some chinese restaurant and do sake bombs with their chinese beer. it was pretty good and all, except my ex got mad wasted and on the way back to her dorm on the T (which is their public transportation) she started vomiting. a lot. it was pretty embarrassing. i was basically holding her up and holding a shopping bag a vagrant had given us and easing her along. while this was happening i was also apologizing to all the people on the bus because she was puking up straight beer. it smelled gross. we got back to her place and i got rid of her clothes, washed her up, helped her brush her teeth and then got her into the bed while i crashed my drunk ass on the couch. good times. goooooooooood times. |

If she is sick, she will be doted on hand and foot to make her comfortable. Being sick is no fun.

How do you handle it when your loved one is sick? Are you caring & attentive...or do you head for the hills? Unless they want to listen to me whine, they should leave. I am a baby when sick. As for them, well if they whine as well, I would leave. |

Some folks don't care for all that attention when they are sick.
Yeah, cleaned up after family members. Its just the way it is. |

I do my best. I have a quick gag reflex for icky smells, bathroom noises and anything gross; therefore, I am limited on HOW involved I get.
I try to make him comfortable, and get anything he needs -- including leaving him alone if that's what he wants. When I'm sick, I want to be left alone! I guess that's why I'm not very nurturing. |

I'd be there for her, or leave her alone, whatever she wants, she gets it.
