My experience has been that their own profiles are either empty or might as well be -- 99% of the profiles that have anything in them at all, are just cut-n-paste boilerplate language from somebody else's profile.

Which proves to me that they probably can't read. either; which explains why they don't read my profile before sending me something that looks like a bad Scrabble Hand as an alleged e-mail....

Im new here but been active for 3 years on another site, Obviously no one reads profiles. I have on mine if ur a widowed enginner, looking for a green card, etc move on and I STILL get those infamous scammer emails.

Iv been on here a week, had a fair amount of emails, but people get assy when they ask to meet, and u say i dont no anything about you..
Is it me or do you like to talk to people first, ie no what there names are, if they work there fav music ect ect..

Seems most people now days just like meeting people first...

I always read profiles.

When I see a poorly written profile lacking punctuation or ALL IN CAPS it makes me think the writer either cared so little about themselves or potential readers that they wouldn't be a good match for me.

It doesn't take much effort to write a readable sentence. If you aren't sure what to say about yourself then it is okay to say that too. Honesty counts!

Pictures don't matter to me although no picture at all does send up a red flag. When I see a profile without a picture I most often wonder if the poster is married.

Your profile makes an important first impression on others or...well it should that is. That is why it is important to take the time to do it right.

I've had my share of those. I'm on this site to get to know somebody before meeting. Life is busy, I don't want to waste my time and theirs by meeting when we know little about each other. I would at least like to have a meaningful convo on the phone with them first. I had an unusual stalker like experience with somebody almost 2 years ago that I met right away. Not gonna happen again.

Some wacked out chick got ahold of a local phone book or something and started calling around my town about me. I live in a very small town and that **** got back to me quick. Thats why I am leery of listing my location
