The Void
I watch a shooting star,

Slowly drfit across the night sky,

Pinning my dreams upon that distant light,

I turn to see you watching,

Half shadowed in the darkness,

A gentle touch of moonlight on your hair,

Arms folded you stare back at me,

The faintest smile upon your lips,

I look back to the void,

And my star is gone,

Nothing but the chill night air,

I feel your presence near me,

Smell your soft perfume,

I feel the heat of your breath on my neck,

Your long, soft fingers upon my arm,

I close my eyes and drift away,

My hand slides across your back,

Wrapping your body in my embrace,

I pull you close and feel your warmth,

The faint scent of jasmine in your hair,

Your heart beats against mine,

I hear you whisper in my ear,

Words of love, of deep desire,

My heart skips,

And you are gone,

My arms hold nothing but darkness,

No jasmine, no mooonlight,

In this I am alone,

Were you ever there,

I look to the deep black void,

And dream...
