I deactivated my account long ago. Today I typed in my user name in google, and up pops my old mingle 2 profile that is deactivated.

Remove my account and and profile from all public files and any place it shows up on google.

The posters above are correct, kmoconnor13. If you deactivate your profile, nobody will be able to view any of your information. Then, given a little time, search engines like Google will drop any links to your account.

*edit* Before you deactivate, you may also want to uncheck each box on the following page.

Although I'm an active member currently, I am troubled by the search engine appearance too.

Do members have rights to keep our profiles confidential to users of the mingle2.com community? Or are we available across the entire world wide web?

I was testing this, and if I googled my screen name, the system did require me to sign in before I could see my profile. So, I believe that the content is "exclusive" to mingle2.

The bottom line is, if you participate in/on any online public forum, then it becomes a matter of public record. This is true of "any" forum board. This is why you will see the "release of liability" disclaimer on any respectable site's terms of use/service.

As far as someone accessing deactivated profiles, then the links from google will lead only to a page which states.."this user has deactivated"
