Topic: Movie File Extention | |
---|---|
I just recorded a video using me cell, it is my first time doing it with this phone. It saved the video as a ".3g2" file. I have never heard of the file extention. It will only view in Quicktime. The video is not for me and am not sure if the person even uses the program. It is built into my laptop so I have it. But I need to change it so it is viewable by others. How do I do that?

If it's postable to youtube, you could post it there, and they can download it as a .flv If you'd like for it to remain out of the public's eye, which I'm guessing is the case, try download.com for a free video converter.

Ya no sorry, it is a private video.
Anyways, after I have downloaded a file converter (any suggestions of a good one?), what is the best file to save it as? |

WMV (windows media video) is pretty universal.

OK, I cannot use the program. It is in FRENCH! I tell it English and everything is in French.

Yeah, for some reason it defaults to French (should've mentioned that, sorry!). Just click on the flag at the very top left, next to "menu"

OK that is all find and dandy. Got it figured out loaded my video and go to convert it and get this error message:
Error[ Unsupported codec(id=86043) for input steam #0.1] Any idea what that means? |

Damn I thought QMV would do it.
I googled the error code and found a suggestion: Email the video from your phone to the PC and it *should* come out in a different format. I've not tried this so I don't know if it'll work. |

Emailing will only send the file in it's current form it wont convert it to anything else. The above program is free and claims to work that format.

But no video. And my phone charged me $1.50 to do it. |

send them the file, and tell them that if they cannot open it, to go to apple.com and download quicktime.
