The United States does something about when it occurs here:

Since 1998, 16 states have instituted criminal sanctions against the practice of FGC: California, Colorado, Delaware, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, Missouri, Nevada, New York, North Dakota, Oregon, Rhode Island, Tennessee, Texas, West Virginia and Wisconsin.5 A federal law criminalizing the practice was passed in 1996 and became effective in April 1997. The law provides that the practice of FGC on a person(s) under the age of 18 is a federal crime, unless the procedure is necessary to protect the health of a young person or for medical purposes connected with labor or birth. The penalty for violating this law is a fine or imprisonment for up to five years, or both. This law specifically exempts cultural beliefs or practices as a defense for conducting.

If you look back throughout history women have been demonized from being the bad influence that caused the downfall of man in the bible from Genesis throughout.

A women is considered out of control of herself at most times and man has to control her.

These traditional views have caused witch burning and sadly genitalia mutilation.

A woman in the throes of passion is a powerfully moving thing for men and out of fear they try to eliminate it.
 I just can't say enough how right you are about just about everything Dragoness:heart:I always enjoy reading your viewpoints, and I could not possibly agree with you more.

Powerful words. However... that last part.... If I have been lucky enough to do the right things to get a woman into (or to be with a woman when she is in) the "throes of passion" which I believe is about the most wonderful thing in the world, why on earth would I or any man want stop it or prevent it from happening? It would appear that a lot of this mutilation is done solely by the older women due to "tradition" and the men have little to do with it.

An Ethiopian immigrant who was convicted here in 2006 of the genital mutilation of his 2-year-old daughter was sentenced to 10 years in prison in what was believed to be the first such criminal case in the United States.

To continue with a theme, The USA has a culture of war.

The USA was founded in the fires of the American Revolution.

The Manifest Destiny of the USA was achieved by defeating the Native American Indians.

The States of the USA were unified by the 'civil' war.

In WW1 and WW2, the USA acquired a dominant position of power in the World, via war.

With victory in the Cold War the US became the only super power.

It is clear that the USA has a culture of war. Thus we must celebrate the many wars the USA has been in recently as a part of our love of diverse and unique cultures. How can America's war in Iraq and Afghanistan be wrong, if it is our culture that drives us to fight?

You think we can get back on topic here. If you have a personal agenda you want to address perhaps you should start a thread on it.

Women have been led to believe what men have taught them disguised with reverence for a belief. They do it out of tradition but the beginning of the tradition came from the fear in man over the power of women.

A woman has been assigned the control of a man's genitalia for a long time in history. If sex happens and it should not have, the man is never blamed, after all, he is just being a man. Women were assigned the job of saying no. If you have a heathen woman who enjoys sex, will she say no?

These "traditions" have spread all over the world. There are some small societies where this is not the case but they are off the beaten path.

I guess possible (probable)threats to american security are more important than islamic women and their young girls.
