secret; is , dark german beer, in the batter.(Churchs chicken is selling small ones for $.99 cents each right now.) i have not tried them yet.

over in west Texas, we called a chili dog, with dark mustard, cheese,fries, and all the fixings a:"Charlie." (Man ,they are goooooooooooooood!)

I've always bought the State Fair brand. They are supposed to be the same recipe as was used in the Texas State Fair where they were invented. In any case, covered with mustard, they are pretty good. Beer batter sounds better.
