you havn't found what you wanted yet.

TRUE or FALSE

It depends on what kind of looking you are talking about, IMO.

Very true! If you've found what you wanted, no need to look any further!

It is an EXCELLENT analogy! Some people treat relationships just like that...t-bone today...fish tomorrow....

but I know what you mean...your appetite for food does change day to day...

should our appetite for a partner change like that as well?

It doesn't for me...when I am with someone...they are my LIFE...until it is over...

I dont even think to look until it is over

Hiya Jules...I probably won't be around much...I work all the time...just have a couple days off and thought I'd pop in and see a few old friends. Nice to see you still here.flowerforyou

I think that's rather a narrow set of options.

I haven't found what I want, and I've given up looking because I'm convinced it doesn't exist.

If perception is reality, then it doesn't. But that doesn't preclude that which you seek from existing.

It's problematic when you get into the concept of "should" --

"Should," according to who, exactly?

Now, my problem has perpetually been that I lose interest in people rather quickly -- because a.) I've made a habit of choosing the wrong people to get involved with, and b.) my attention span is slightly worse than that of a hamster on crack.

But, ideally, I would like to think that I'm capable of the "long-term commitment" ideal -- provided there will ever be anyone worth long-term-committing to. Of that, I am dubious.

Can you back this claim up with scientific data?

Absolutely. They ran a series of tests at the Centers for Disease Control in Georgia. This was in 1998. My attention span (with few exceptions) averages 0.9 seconds. The hamsters' attention spans varied from 1.2 seconds (on crack, or watching reruns of "The Facts of Life" on TV) to 39 minutes (one hamster was deeply into meditation, and could focus quite well).

I have a hamster that is addicted to crack. He won't listen to a damn thing that you say. Got a mean streak too. Every now and then I have to taser the little b@stard with one of my dogs shock collars.

I never say anything that I can't prove, or can't make up something that might reasonably be construed as sounding like proof.

Being in a committed relationship, then... No. Because personally, if I committed to a relationship, then that means I had found what I was looking for. If I just date and not commit, I am still getting to know the person.

Dear Abby always said "When a man is through looking, he is through"
I suspect it could apply to women as well.
