My answer may have seemed callous, but I take a very pragmatic approach. It may hurt, but I don't allow anyone to see it, and I cut my losses. Not one for crying over spilled milk, you know?

My first thought was Relief, plain and simple. Then came the thoughts of knowing that I'm strong enough to do this, I can make it. Then, before I turned and walked away I thought... you're going to miss me.
