Questions Asked by a Fading Heart
Where are you? You seem to be so far away Standing here before me With a smile on your face Is it for me? I reach for your cold hand So slow to warm my heart Your grip like a steal vise Do you dream? Are they just faded memories You no longer wish to recall Have they died in your reality Who holds you? In the middle of the night When slumber's reminiscence rules And the grasp on your heart loosens Where's your soul? Can you raise it from the grave Buried beneath all the misery Are you able to face yourself Can you love? Do you understand the depth Of self you must give to hold me Or the gift that I offer you * This poem is old, just sharing some of my work. |
