Basically...been there, done that.... quit it. I have no need for it and I don't want to be around people who do need to smoke it .That's my personal decision. What I did as a young adult is one thing I am not very proud of. I know this might sound like a "stick in the mud" or "old foogy"... But I don't see where it does you any real good. its just an excuse to hide from your problems and your self.JMO

I believe it makes you lazy and stupid.

I have quite a high IQ and am in high demand by non-doping engineers to fix things that they can't. I program in over 30 programming languages for 4 different operating systems. Primarily engineering apps but some business apps too. I also design and program circuits utilizing PICS, PALS and PROMS. Process control, simulation, etc. I can fix anything that runs on nuts & bolts, hydraulics, pneumatics or electrons. My friends, including PhD professors always introduce me as "This is Jack, the guy I've been telling you about". And I've been smoking dope 35 years.

Perhaps I'm not too modest about my accomplishments and skills, and I'll just say that if you put that blanket assesment on everyone, not just stupid, lazy people that happen to smoke a bit, you're not too smart yourself.

You are the exception not the rule. I speak from personal experience and observation. I grew up in an era when smoking was part of the fabric of the teenage experience. Almost all of the people I went to high school that kept on smoking (a large number), have lived lazy and unproductive lives.

I applaud that you have been so successful, and you do not need to be modest about your accomplishments. However, I stand by my statement.

I don't want my doctor, child care provider, or bus driver doing it stoned. And I don't work stoned. But it does not "make you stupid". Thats an affliction that a good percentage of the population suffers from with no assistance whatsoever.

Alcohol...thats your stupidity drug, if there has to be one. Accidents, fights, plain stupid behavior is not only prevalent, it's the norm for people under the influence of alcohol. I wonder how many of you who call burning one "trying to escape reality" or "forget your problems" toss back a few regulary and see nothing wrong with it? Besides decimating the donut population, I don't see any of that with stoners.

I'd say this about heroin.... about opiates in general, but especially heroin.

In re: THC, it might just be possible the lazy and stupid seek it out... and the marijuana is simply guilty by association.

Honestly, a lot of the lazy tokers that I've known were lazy with or without weed. And stupidity, real stupidity, is more a choice people make every time they make a decision or open their mouths. I've met really intelligent people who had a habit of doing or saying stupid things, and they were stupid by choice. Weed had nothing to do with it. I've also met tokers who were very motivated and hard-working, not a lazy bone in their bodies. I think there are tokers who use the weed as an excuse to be lazy and unmotivated, even if they don't need an excuse.

i know not alot people dont agree with smoking....i guess i should have picked up a different safer habit like alchoholism....

What?

You mean only a few people disagree with smoking marijuana?

Why would you extrapolate anything that was said about marijuana to alcohol? Your question was about marijuana....

I don't smoke. Never liked it. BUT I do not think it should be illegal. There should be the same restrictions on it as there are with Alcohol. In my opinion, there are many worse crimes directly attributed to someone drinking then someone smoking weed.
