good question.

i guess it would be when it is understood that someone invites you out to get to know you after expressing an interest in pursuing a romantic relationship.

When is a date..a date?

ummmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm... does the guy pick up the check? or do you split it up? does he pick you up? is it casual?

i would say its all in how you feel. if you are laid back and at ease, then no. but if you are slightly uneasy and feel as though you cant eat, then youre on a date.

But only one could possibly feel the uneasiness and not the other.. so would that still be just to call it a date??

When two who are interested in each other make plans to go out & actually follow through with it.

what

A) When you're talking about a specific day in question, ie., the 23rd of Novemeber. I was born on that DATE.

B) When you're talking about the legume called a "Date".
He took a bushel of dates, and make fig cookies from them.

C) When two or more people have something scheduled on a specific day.
Suzy, Danielle, and I are going to the movies on Friday night, and afterwords, I hope to get them back to my place. rofl

Depends on viewpoint. For me there is meeting someone for the first time, then going out but there is no contact with one another. Its a date when sexual contact of any kind becomes involved. NO that does not mean sex itself. If there is definite 'Pairing' behavior involved then it is dating.

Usually dating means a certain form of exclusions like many people (LIKE ME) get offended if the woman (in my case) is dating other guys while dating me (BIT*C PLAYER ALERT red flag for me).

If I am going out with my GF then it is a date. If I am going out with a friend (who is female but not my GF) then it is just going out. Besides, don't some wild things happen on dates?

Love in an elevator....

Livin' it up till I hit the ground!

Oh Yeah!!!

I don't think it has anything to do with who picks up the check, who picks up who or if it's casual or not.

Do you need to actually vocally say the word "DATE" though?? Could too people who are interested in each other, who flirty slyly, agree to accompany each other to an event and be both totally stoked.. is that a date or no????

I would say that it was assumed that is was a date without the need for confirmation.

That's fine and all, but it can still be a date if the woman picks up the man, if the woman pays or if the check is split.
