well after acting the part of the quiet nice guy for over 5 years I think professing your niceness is better than sitting back and getting run over by everyone else.

That might happen if you keep telling people you're a nice guy. Good luck, though.

my whole approach works like this see...you get to know me and learn that honesty really is the best policy. If I say it I mean it...thats why Im not afraid to tell you....hey im a nice guy!

Why not just be you and let others decide if you're nice or not? Rather than labeling yourself.

Oh well, do what you want. Take a look at some of the other nice guy threads, though.

maybe i should say; it seems ,like being nice is not looked on nicely by some people. Oh, I try to show kindness, to all I come in contact with. I have always wanted to help older people eat- foods they would like ,when their ssi is not enough.(with NO OTHER motives, but being kind to someone, that needs it.)
If your doing these things out of the kindness of your heart...All I can say is BRAVO.. as for others treating or looking upon you as something else.. Have you considered the "guilt" they have. here you are doing good deeds and they stand by and watch and critize .. hmm maybe they need more guilt. Do more good deeds and keep your faith that your doing something good for someone with out any strings attached.

and when you get the stares and remarks, just nod back at them wink and say. I am doing for you also.

As long as you are nice to yourself, the rewards are great.

what would you-all say?? I consider myself nice, but have been treated very unkind in many places, for helpping out older folks in need.

Well, there's a difference between being a nice guy and a doormat.

The way I figure it, a doormat with the words NICE GUY on it is still going to get walked on.
