"I contend that we are both atheists. I just believe in one fewer god than you do. When you understand why you dismiss all the other possible gods, you will understand why I dismiss yours."

You may not think the following is much fun, but I had a lot of fun creating it. It's my own personal Qabalah tree, based on Celtic Faery Teachings, Buddhism, Tarot, the Zodiac, and the Scientific Method. Yep, that's what I scream out during sex too! laugh

I just finished this tree tonight and I'm very pleased with it.

It was a lot of fun to create, and I'm sure it will bring me many years of pleasurable meditations and visulizations for my spiritual journey.

I actually have a far more elaborate painting in my mind that I'd like to create for this. That painting won't resemble this tree much to the untrained eye. But this is a really great schematic diagram with which I am well pleased.

What is a qabalah tree and what does this one mean? Maybe this isn't the best thread though, so I suggest a new thread.

You're right, that would take a threat of it's own at least.

This is the culmination of at least four months of studying and reading. It's also been taylored from various philosophies. So it would not be easy to share quickly.

The Qabalah Tree is also quite diverse. There is a Jewish Kabbalah, and a Celtic Qabalah, and many versions of each. This tree is quite far removed from the Jewish version and is more focused on the Celtic and Faery traditions. You may also notice that there is a 'Buddha' in this one as well in the path between compassion and wisdom.

Just to give you a quick run-down if you're truly interested.

The 10 sphere represent Earthly reality. The physical existent of body and the phsyical connection and dependency on Mother Earth. The four colors of that sphere represent the four spiritual elements of Earth, Air, Fire and Water or respectively, Manifestation, Mind or logos, Creativity or imagination and Emotion or pathos. Your body is your temple, and the entire earth and all its inhabitants is included as part of your body.

The spheres 7, 8, & 9 complete the "Lunar Triad". This is the basic wheel of karma, or wheel of fortune. I chose to represent the poles as Logos and pathos. Though many people represent them using other attributes. The paths connecting these spheres are represented by the major arcana of the tarot.

Sphere 9 represents the Moon and the Moon Goddess.

Spheres 4, 5, and 6, represent the Solar Triad. This is the wheel of Justice. I chose to represent the poles using Compasson and Purity. Many people use Mercy and Severity or other similar attributes. I perfer Compassion and Purity as the poles here.

Sphere 6 represents teh Sun God and Harmony or Balance.

Spheres 1, 2, and 3, represent the Stellar Triad. This is teh wheel of Judgement. Wisdom and Understanding are the standard poles. Being (sphere 1) is the harmonious center.

These are used for meditations, contemplations, and visualizations in shamanic journeys as well, as in day-to-day living.

Each sphere is associated with a specific planet that is symbolized in the center of the sphere. There are as follows:

1. Uranus
2. Neptune
3. Saturn
4. Jupiter
5. Mars
6. Sun
7. Venus
8. Mercury
9. Moon
10. Earth

These are actually thought of as Gods, or archangels, or faery spirits and each one has a specific meaning and range of applications to various aspects of life.

It actually makes a lot of sense once you understand the whole mythology behind it. bigsmile

Even if you don't believe in the actual spiritual power of it, it could still be useful just from a psychological point of view.

I find it quite intriguing, and I enjoy studying it.

While this particular tree is custom taylored to my relationship with spirit, it is not all that far removed from how many people use the qabalah. I changed some labels to better suit my understanding and relationship with particular spirits. I also moved around a few tarot cards in ways that made more sense to me. However, once reason I feel free to do this is because I have seen many people doing it quite differently. So I go with my intuition.

I never believed in rigid dogma. It's just a guide for meditations, and organizing aspects of life. It's not meant to be an actual representation of anything more than that.

After all, if a person believes in spirits surely they must believe those spirits are intelligent enough to also be flexible as well.
